Donderdag 27 september: just around the corner

Vandaag heeft Amy een uitje voor ons georganiseerd. We gaan de wandeling tussen Coogee Beach en Bondi Beach in Sydney doen. Deze wandeling loopt helemaal langs de kust en zou ca. 5 kilometer moeten zijn. Bob twijfelt of hij dit aankan maar wil eigenlijk niets missen. Bovendien spreekt de lunch (met een wijntje natuurlijk) die we in Bondi Beach gepland hebben hem wel aan. We hebben alweer mazzel, we hebben een strakblauwe lucht.

De wandeling is fantastisch. We hebben prachtige vergezichten en de zee is zo mooi van kleur. Het is een gaaf gezicht om naar alle surfers de kijken. En als we dan ook nog een walvis in de verte zien, kan de dag niet meer kapot. Doordat het kustpad op een aantal plaatsen afgesloten is, lopen we aanzienlijk meer dan 5 kilometer, daarnaast moeten we steeds trappen op en af. Voor de 81-jarige Bob eigenlijk veel te zwaar. En iedere keer als we zeggen dat we er na de volgende bocht zijn, volgt er weer een nieuwe bocht. Drie uur later zitten we voldaan aan de lunch in Bondi. Het was een heerlijke wandeling, hij kon ons niet niet lang genoeg duren.

‘s Avonds proberen we met de BBQ bij ons huisje de beroemde Cobb zalm te maken voor Bob en Dianne, maar dat blijkt met toch wat lastiger dan gedacht. Uiteindelijk wordt er toch een heerlijk stukje zalm op tafel getoverd die we ons allemaal goed laten smaken.
